AIMS Updates – Dec. 10, 2021
TABC has updated the AIMS Updates webpage containing an ongoing list of Alcohol Industry Management System (AIMS) improvements and issues the agency is working to resolve.
The following issues have been fixed or resolved:
- Excise Tax Reports Not Accepted: Users temporarily unable to file Excise Tax reports.
- Individual owner unable to update percentage of ownership.
- Request for Information: Unable to scroll down in the square box.
- Non-U.S. Addresses Not Accepted for Business Entity Officers:Â AIMS does not accept non-U.S. addresses.
- Application Summary Page – Principal Parties List: When the principal parties do not fit within one page, AIMS will not print it correctly and you cannot see all of the principal parties.
- Local Cartage Permit Requires $0 Payment.
- Error Message Needs Update: Error message for FEIN/SSN should be updated to indicate the FEIN/SSN is already associated with a different entity/person and include instructions for what the user should do next.
- Charter Number for Non-Texas Entities: Unable to enter alpha characters in the data field and the field has a character limit.

Reminder: Claim Your Business
If an existing license or permit holder is scheduled to begin using AIMS, that businesses should complete the Claim Business process before completing applications using AIMS.

Applying With Paper Applications
While using AIMS is the fastest and preferred way to apply for a license or permit, TABC also accepts applications by mail. However, processing time for a paper applications will be significantly longer than submitting through AIMS. You must mail a complete application to the address provided below.
A complete application includes:
- All questions answered and required documents (if applicable, all required city, county and comptroller certifications, legal notice, completed bond, lease agreement(s), loan documentation, any other agreements, school notices, picture of 60-day sign posted).
- Payment for application fees, if applicable.
- Applicant’s signature before a notary public.
Send your application and payment together in one envelope. Your application will not be accepted for processing if it doesn’t include payment. Payments must be made with a cashier’s check, money order, or company check payable to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. We do not accept personal checks.
